Trying a new salon is a small act of trust. You're handing your hair to someone you've never met and hoping you'll walk out feeling like yourself, only better. If you're a little nervous, that's normal. Here's exactly what happens at your first visit to Park & Eve, so there are no surprises, plus how to pick a stylist worth staying with.
It Starts With a Consultation, Always
Before any scissors or color touch your hair, your stylist sits down with you and actually looks. We'll ask about your hair's history (previous color, box dye, keratin, heat damage), what's worked and what hasn't, and what you're hoping for. This is the most important part of the appointment. A great result is decided here, not at the mirror afterward.
We'll also be honest with you. If the look you want is a two-appointment journey rather than a single session, we'll tell you upfront, along with why. Honesty at the consultation is how you avoid disappointment at checkout.
What to Bring
- Photos of what you like. Two or three references say more than a paragraph of description.
- Photos of what you don't like. Just as useful, often more so.
- Your hair's history. Especially any box color or previous lightening, it genuinely changes what's possible.
- Your real routine. How much time you actually spend styling at home. A cut and color should fit your life, not fight it.
How to Choose the Right Stylist
The best stylist for you is one who specializes in what you need. A brilliant blonde colorist isn't automatically the right person for curly hair, and vice versa. When you're looking:
- Find someone whose specialty matches your goal, curls, dimensional color, men's cutting, and so on.
- Look at their real client work, not just stock inspiration photos.
- Book a consultation first. How someone listens tells you almost everything.
At Park & Eve we're a small team of independent specialists, so you're matched with the right person and you work with that same experienced stylist start to finish, never handed off mid-appointment.
After Your Appointment
Before you leave, your stylist will talk you through how to keep the look at home: the products that will actually help (we're an Oribe salon), how to style it yourself, and when to come back. Good aftercare advice is part of the service, not an upsell.
